Louie French is campaigning for traffic calming measures to be introduced around Bexley Village, particularly for a zebra crossing outside Old Bexley Primary School.
Louie has been in conversation with local Councillors, Old Bexley Primary School and Bexley Council over securing a zebra crossing on Hurst Road outside the School, given the use of this stretch of road by school children and elderly people accessing the Village.
Louie is in the process of securing external funding for this project, alongside exploring the potential of other traffic calming measures.
Commenting, Louie said:
“During my election campaign, it was made very clear to me the importance of road safety improvements to local residents and parents and I am passionate about improving the road safety, particularly around our local schools.”
“Alongside delivering improvements to these roads with Bexley Council, I have also been in discussion with Bexley Police surrounding speed monitoring options in a number of hotspots.”
