Further to the progress already secured for the Southeastern timetable including the reinstatement of Charing Cross services on the Bexleyheath line and the restoration of 4 trains per hour for Albany Park Station during peak times, I am pleased that Southeastern have continued to listen to me and we have secured further improvements to the timetable.
The new timetable which started on 2nd June includes the below changes:
- Albany Park Station now has 4 trains per hour all day, including 2 trains per hour to and from Lewisham.
- On the Sidcup line, trains have been better spaced from Charing Cross and run every 15 minutes from Sidcup line stations towards Charing Cross, all day.
- On the Bexleyheath line, journey times have improved on services to Charing Cross with trains up to 5 minutes quicker off-peak, and trains have been better spaced from stations to London Bridge throughout the day.
- Late evening services on Saturdays to the Bexleyheath line now run from Charing Cross from 21:55 to the end of service, instead of from Cannon Street to better reflect the demand from passengers for the West End which I have been emphasising to Southeastern.
From 15th December 2024, there will be the introduction of 12 additional loop line services on the Sidcup line in the morning and evening peaks, improving access to the Elizabeth Line, as well as linking the Sidcup line with Cannon Street and New Cross.
With the support of local passengers and commuters, I have been extensively campaigning for these positive changes and I am glad that Southeastern have listened. But I will continue to call for further improvements to our local rail services including extra capacity on Victoria services, more Charing Cross services on the Bexleyheath line and improved reliability.
