Despite Sadiq Khan's many failures, Old Bexley and Sidcup remains one of the safest areas in Greater London. However, we have our challenges locally, especially with anti-social behaviour and vehicle crime.
I regularly meet with our local police teams and join on-the-beat walks to help with crime prevention, including cracking down on vehicle theft, which I know has been a matter of local concern recently.
I am working hard to secure our fair share of London’s police resources, stop Labour from closing more police stations and work with the police to tackle anti-social behaviour and vehicle theft. In particular, I am campaigning to scrap the tri-borough policy that Sadiq Khan introduced in 2018, which saw Bexley’s resources merged with the higher crime areas of Greenwich and Lewisham, so we can return to community policing and ensure all local residents feel safer.
