Louie French expressed the importance of reaching sustainable migration levels to relieve pressure on our public services including housing in the South East to the Immigration Minister, Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP.
In response, the Immigration Minister agreed acknowledging the housing pressures locally and affirming the Government’s commitment to bring net migration down to sustainable level.
The Government are introducing a package of measures alongside continuing to implement a points based system that has the potential to reduce net migration initially up to around 100,000 a year, and by low to mid tens of thousand in the medium to longer term.
Louie recognises constituent’s concerns over net migration numbers and has voted for tougher immigration measures at every available opportunity and will continue to support the Government in its efforts to stop illegal immigration and the people smugglers.
