Louie French MP has expressed his serious concerns over the overcrowding at London Bridge Station and has asked for an urgent review and changes to the new timetable.
The incident was linked to an emergency call being made stopping all trains due to a trespasser at Hither Green and led to crowd control being required at London Bridge Station. This caused overcrowding and disruption to journeys, which Louie expressed his serious concerns over with Southeastern and has asked for urgent changes and a review into the incident.
Southeastern have since confirmed that they are conducting a review with Network Rail into the incident which Louie has been asked to be kept informed on and will follow closely.
Louie will also ensure to raise this issue with Southeastern at his upcoming meeting with them, alongside his continued calls for more trains and carriages, particularly in the peak times, more trains serving Albany Park Station, and the reinstatements of the loop service to Abbey Wood on the Sidcup Line and Charing Cross services on the Bexleyheath line.
Louie previously raised concerns over the pressure the timetable changes would create on London Bridge Station which has forced thousands of passengers to change at London Bridge. Louie has also requested for additional measures to be put in place to support passengers having to change at London Bridge, particularly for elderly and less mobile passengers.
