Protecting Bexley’s green and pleasant land

Bexley is home to many fantastic parks and green spaces that we all enjoy. I will always support community volunteers and have worked hard with local residents to oppose inappropriate developments, including on the green belt near Bexley Village.

We need family housing, but Labour’s plans to weaken the greenbelt protections risk turning beautifully green Bexley into Lewisham.

Bexley Conservatives put an Article 4 Directive in place which protects against some of these issues, but it remains a risk and I have supported hundreds of residents with concerns about HMOs in quiet residential roads.

Given the Labour Party’s plans to give the Mayor new planning powers and freedoms, not letting Labour sneak in the back door in Bexley is going to be critical in protecting our green spaces.
